Tools & Calculators
Problem
Tools and calculators were not categorised with a clear purpose. Additionally, there was no room to accommodate for new calculators that are constantly being developed.
Solutions
The page, part of James Hardie’s Estimation Service, was restructured into two categories to improve navigation, allowing customers to easily access and select the tools needed for their projects. In addition, the page was updated to aid admins, distributors, architects, and designers, offering calculations and downloadable technical documents.

Estimation Service
Problem
The front-end and back-end forms are not aligned with one another, creating inconsistencies for both admin and customers.
Solutions
Forms were updated on both front and back-end consistently. Additionally, user testing provided an in-depth understanding of additional features required. This includes admins receiving reports of each request, and customers can view the comment history related to all submitted requests. The Estimation Service page enables customers to request calculations for materials and products needed for a project more accurately.

Problem
Create a more efficient process for admins to generate site specific warranties without manually entering their names for each request. Automate the retrieval of documents from various folders to handle the high volume efficiently.
Solutions
Create a one-stop-shop for admins to create as many warranty documents required for the customers. An automated detailed log of admins producing the site specific warranty documents was added as part of the solution. A clear hierarchy of product types on the request page is produced enabling seamless automation for admin.

James Hardie's Research and Product Development team requested a redesign of their outdated SharePoint website, which was difficult to use. The goal was to enhance the user experience for staff while incorporating more of James Hardie’s branding. Additionally, the R&D SharePoint site needed to link to their new Innovation Lab site, which encourages staff to submit ideas and collaborate on innovative designs.
